A little more about Shiu
In 2016, personal trainer and tattoo model Shiulina Wu had a groundbreaking idea to combine her two passions: tattoos and fitness. Well-known around Honolulu for both, Shiulina sought to create something unique that would inspire others.
After receiving rave reviews for her intricate leg tattoo, which stretches from her hip to her ankle, Shiulina decided to transform this personal design into a wearable piece. This marked the beginning of the ShiuFit brand. Shiulina recalls, “I have always been known as the fitness female with the tattoo on her leg. For me, getting my leg piece was a deeply cultural experience that represents my personal story and background. In July 2016, I printed the design on a pair of leggings because people loved it so much. I wanted to provide a way for people to enjoy the design without getting tattooed. I realized that if my designs could help inspire others to reach their fitness goals while being comfortable and stylish, this was something I needed to do.”
Shiulina didn’t stop at leggings. Recognizing the need for versatile athletic wear, she released the ShiuFit Rash Guards, designed for comfort and performance in any athletic activity, both in and out of the water.
As an influencer in Oahu, Shiulina is admired for her physique and dedication. She uses her platform to create videos, clothing, and more, aiming to inspire people in Hawaii and beyond.
